The LORD’S SUPPER
1 Corinthians 11–23–26
“ For what I have received from the LORD I pass on to you: that JESUS on the night HE was betrayed, took bread & giving thanks HE broke it saying. THIS IS MY BODY WHICH IS FOR YOU: DO THIS IN REMEMBERANCE OF ME. In the same way after supper HE took the cup saying, THIS CUP IS THE NEW COVENANT IN MY BLOOD, WHENEVER YOU DRINK IT, IN REMEMBERANCE OF ME. For whenever you eat the bread & drink this cup, you proclaim the LORDS death until he comes.”
The LORD’S SUPPER is a visible representation of the Good News of the death of CHRIST for our sins. It reminds us that HIS death & resurrection provides us a clear path to eternal life with HIM. It strengthens our Faith & fellowship with CHRIST & with other believers. JESUS instructed us: DO THIS WHENEVER YOU DRINK IN REMEMBERANCE OF ME. The question we must ask ourselves is, besides HOLY Communion what are be doing to remember CHRISTs Sacrifice for us? What cross or burden have we shouldered? What are we doing to honor the blessing JESUS CHRIST bestowed upon us?
